Low tide, new treasure

Very low tide today, so I went down to pick up trash. Poking around I startled when I saw what looked like a face emerging from the mud. Sure enough- a small (roughly fit into the palm of my  hand) ceramic mask that still had ribbons attached. She was very encrusted with gunk, and a small mussel was attached to her nose- so wasn't really recent. Second photo shows her all cleaned up- no marks on the back though. It's a mystery as it wouldn't have just floated up!
