Two new photos of Chester
Find the owl! Way up in the tree canopy- on an oak limb but burrowed into a bunch of Queen palm fronds. He is a clever owl- this allows him to do his daytime calls to his lady love, announcing his territory to other Barred owls while sheltering from over head predators (we have hawks in the neighborhood) and the pesky marauding birds.
Next shot was from this afternoon- had to be quick- but he was in a new place deep in the swamp with the sun behind him. Just my luck- most times, I usually see him in our backyard the afternoons and the sun is almost always behind him. I can't get a shot from the other direction, because I would have to wade through about two feet of mud.
